These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the A Party of Eight website and your participation in any event organized by A Party of Eight. By accessing this website and registering for any event, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Definitions

"Event" means any gathering hosted, ticketed, or organized by A Party of Eight, including but not limited to friendship matchmaking dinners, classes, workshops, social experiences, activities, retreats, and any event held in partnership with a third party vendor, venue, or host. Unless a section states that it applies only to dinners, every policy in these Terms and Conditions applies to all Events.

"Guest" means any person who purchases a ticket or holds a reservation for an Event.

"Partner" means any restaurant, venue, instructor, vendor, or business that A Party of Eight works with to deliver an Event.

Registrations and Reservations

1. Registration Period

Registration for dinners opens every other Monday for dinners scheduled the following week and closes Monday at 11:59 PM. Registration windows for all other Events are listed on each Event's page. All reservations must be made through the official A Party of Eight platform or an authorized ticketing partner listed on the Event's page. Registrations submitted through any other method are invalid and not eligible for refund or credit.

2. Group Placement

A Party of Eight may adjust groupings, tables, or teams as needed to support Event logistics and the guest experience. Group assignments may change up to the day before the Event. Placement with specific individuals or friends is not guaranteed. Groups may also be merged or adjusted when necessary.

3. Capacity and Minimums

Events have limited capacity and are sold on a first come, first served basis. Some Events require a minimum number of Guests to take place. If an Event does not reach its minimum, A Party of Eight may cancel it and Guests may choose between a full refund or a credit toward a future Event.

Dinners

The following applies to dinners only.

1. Event Details

Dinners take place on scheduled dates at partner restaurants. Location details are emailed to Guests ahead of the dinner. Guests are responsible for their own food, beverage, and gratuity charges. The reservation fee covers the curated experience only and does not apply to restaurant costs. A Party of Eight is not responsible for restaurant billing disputes.

2. Restaurant Bills

Guests must settle their own restaurant bills in full.

Events and Experiences

The following applies to classes, workshops, activities, and all other non dinner Events.

1. Event Details

Each Event's page lists what the ticket includes, such as instruction, materials, food, or drinks. Anything not listed is not included and is the Guest's responsibility. Location and Partner details may be shared at checkout or by email ahead of the Event.

2. Partner Policies

Some Events take place at Partner locations that have their own rules, waivers, dress codes, or safety requirements. Guests agree to follow those requirements and to sign any waiver a Partner requires in order to participate. Guests who decline a required waiver may not be able to participate, and no refund will be issued.

3. Physical Activities

Some Events involve physical activity, equipment, tools, heat, food preparation, or animals. Guests participate voluntarily and at their own risk, and are responsible for knowing their own physical limits and for informing the host of any dietary restrictions or allergies before the Event.

4. Items Made at Events

Items made at an Event, such as pottery, candles, ceramics, or artwork, may require additional time for firing, curing, or finishing. A Party of Eight is not responsible for breakage, defects, or delays caused by a Partner's process.

Policies for All Events

1. Ticket Policy

All ticket purchases are final. No refunds are issued when a Guest cancels or does not attend. See Refunds and Exceptions for Events cancelled by A Party of Eight.

2. Rescheduling Policy

Guests may reschedule their reservation up to 7 days before the scheduled Event, subject to availability. Requests made less than 7 days before the Event are not accepted and will be treated as a cancellation. Some Events are single date experiences and cannot be rescheduled to the same Event; in that case, an approved reschedule may be applied as a credit toward a different Event.

3. Timeliness

Guests are responsible for arriving on time. Seats and spots may not be held for late arrivals, and some Events cannot be joined once instruction has begun. Partial attendance, late arrival, or early departure does not alter the cancellation or no show fees.

4. Liability Disclaimer

A Party of Eight is not responsible for food quality, Partner service, Partner operations, or any incidents that occur on Partner premises.

Cancellations and No Shows

The no show fee applies to every Event, including dinners, classes, workshops, and experiences. The late cancellation fee applies to dinners only.

1. Late Cancellation Fee (Dinners Only)

If a Guest cancels a dinner reservation less than 7 days before the scheduled dinner, a $10 late cancellation fee will be automatically charged to the card on file. No cancellation fee is charged for dinner cancellations made 7 or more days before the dinner, or for cancellations of any other Event.

2. No Show Fee

If a Guest does not attend an Event and has not cancelled before the Event begins, a $20 no show fee will be automatically charged. A Guest is charged either the late cancellation fee or the no show fee for a single reservation, never both.

3. Payment Authorization

By booking a reservation for any Event, Guests authorize A Party of Eight to automatically charge the payment method on file for all applicable fees, including cancellation and no show fees, without additional notice or consent.

4. Payment Method Requirement

Guests must maintain a valid payment method on file. If payment fails, Guests must update their payment information within 48 hours. Unpaid fees may result in suspended access to future Events.

5. Repeated Offenses

Repeated cancellations or no shows across any Events may result in restricted or revoked access to future Events.

6. Non Transferability

Reservations are non transferable. Substitute attendees are not permitted unless approved in writing by A Party of Eight.

Community Guidelines

A Party of Eight is committed to creating a welcoming environment for women seeking meaningful connection. Guests are expected to behave respectfully toward fellow attendees, Partners, staff, instructors, and hosts. Any behavior that is disrespectful, inappropriate, or disruptive may result in removal from the Event without refund and may restrict future attendance.

Code of Conduct

Guests must uphold a standard of respect and courtesy at all times. Harassment, discrimination, or conduct that creates an uncomfortable environment will result in removal from the Event. Hosts may take any action necessary to support guest comfort and safety, including adjusting seating or groups or removing Guests.

Group Messaging

A Party of Eight uses private messaging platforms, such as GroupMe, to help Guests connect before and after Events. Participation is optional. Guests must behave respectfully within these chats. Guests may not share personal information from the chats, take screenshots, or use chat content outside the Event. A Party of Eight is not responsible for outages, delays, or technical issues from third party platforms. Chats may be moderated, limited, or closed at host discretion.

Event Photography

By attending any A Party of Eight Event, Guests grant A Party of Eight the right to photograph and record the Event for marketing and promotional use across digital and print platforms. Guests who prefer not to be photographed must notify the host before the Event begins.

Changes to Events

A Party of Eight may reschedule or relocate any Event due to weather, Partner or venue issues, or other circumstances. If a Partner or venue becomes unavailable on the day of the Event, we may relocate the Event. If the Event cannot take place, the Refunds and Exceptions section below applies.

Refunds and Exceptions

All ticket purchases are final. Guests who cancel, miss, or cannot attend an Event are not eligible for a refund. If A Party of Eight cancels an Event for any reason, Guests may choose between a full refund, a credit toward a future Event, or a rescheduled date.

Force Majeure

A Party of Eight is not responsible for delays or cancellations caused by circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, governmental actions, pandemics, or unforeseen emergencies.

Privacy and Data Use

A Party of Eight may collect, store, and process guest information for purposes including, but not limited to, event communication, reservation management, operational administration, service improvement, internal analytics, and partnership development. A Party of Eight does not sell guest information. A Party of Eight may share guest information with trusted partners, service providers, or affiliates only when reasonably necessary to deliver Events, process payments, or support event operations. A Party of Eight does not authorize the use of guest information by any third party for independent or unrelated marketing purposes. By registering, Guests consent to receive event related emails and text messages. All data handling practices comply with applicable privacy and data protection laws.

Third Party Links

A Party of Eight may share links to third party websites or services. We do not control or endorse these websites and are not responsible for their content or practices.

Age Requirement

Guests must be 21 years of age or older to attend A Party of Eight Events. By registering, you affirm that you meet this age requirement.

Dispute Resolution

Guests agree to first attempt informal resolution of any dispute by contacting Howdy@apartyof8.com. If a dispute is not resolved within 30 days, it will be settled through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, held in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, if the claim qualifies.

Indemnification

Guests agree to indemnify and hold harmless A Party of Eight, its owners, employees, hosts, and agents from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from Event attendance or participation.

Modification of Terms

A Party of Eight may update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updates take effect immediately upon posting. Continued participation constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina. Any legal claims fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.
